The 2012 Blanc de Blanc is our first sparkling wine and is dedicated to our mothers Elizabeth and Esthere and grandmother Esther. Barrel fermented and tiraged on site and disgorged after 3 years on lees. A very pleasing outcome and a wine for that special occasion.
“Fermentation and maturation for 6 months in barrels, followed by 3 years on lees has coaxed out spicy, toasty, biscuity nuances from this tightly honed lemon-accented style of surprisingly pale straw hue. Finely textured structure and excellent, bright acidity denote a long and linear finish” James Halliday Wine Companion Rating 92
Tank fermented with no use of oak to allow the shy tropical fruit notes to shine. Delicate bouquet of lychee and tropical fruit greets a palate of subtle lemon sherbet. The perfect sundowner for a warm afternoon or indulge with freshly shucked oysters. "Punchy, tangy and very well made, this would make a sophisticated substitute for a whole slew of sauvignons. Tangerine, cumquat, dried mango and some herb leap from the glass. The exuberant aromas are bound to a zesty, light, crunch palate." James Halliday Wine Companion 2018 Edition Rating 90 points
“Sweet oak and peach driven fruit make for a bigger, sunnier style than has become the norm. It’s not quite old school, but it’s certainly inspired by chardonnay styles of yore, and will appeal to those looking for a white with body and richness” – Halliday Wine Companion Rating 92
Barrel fermented in old and new French oak barriques with natural wild yeast on full lees. Lifted but not dominant oak notes entice the senses to enjoy the rich palate of pear and roasted cashews with a crisp citrus finish.
Eucalypt notes are prominent but this is a fine pinot noir. Elastic tannin stretches through the wine, giving the sweet-sour fruit a strict, controlled impression of flex. It's tight but you can still enjoy its wares in its youth. Light and not especially intense but it does not lack impact. Far more length than breadth. Intense crimson appearance with ripe purple fruits and herbaceous notes; dusty tannins complemented by hints of menthol and vanillin oak. James Halliday Wine Companion Rating 88 – Diam Cork
Medium bodied and brightened by cranberry/redcurrant flavours. Eucalypt notes add lift; infusions of herbs are little more than glancing blows. Tannin keeps the picture neat. James Halliday Wine Companion - 94 points
“Luscious, loose-knit style of cabernet, particularly in a Yarra Valley context. All chocolate and mint and essency blackcurrant. Good volume and texture.” James Halliday Wine Companion Rating 88
Deep, dense colour, bright rim; the colour inspires confidence, the bouquet builds on that, and the medium to full-bodied palate duly delivers a wine of real class; it is supple and rich, with satsuma plum, blackberry, pepper and a touch of black licorice built on a latticework of ripe tannins and integrated oak - Halliday Wine companion - 96 points
“Picture-perfect cool climate Shiraz. Succulent, sweet-fruited, full of savoury spice and refreshing/mouth-watering through the finish. Tannin inks itself in fine script throughout. Game/undergrowth/gumleaf notes add complexity. A thing of beauty.” James Halliday Wine Companion Rating 96
